meet scruffy
Scruffy is a very loving, happy and active Westie boy; and he is in great health for his age.
- full veterinarian exam w/lab work
- full dental exam w/cleaning & tooth extraction
- fecal negative
- heart worm negative
- up-to-date on all vaccines
- flea & heart worm preventative
- housebroken
- neutered
- 25 pounds
Scruffy enjoys the company of both men and women; and does well in large groups of people - particularly if he is the center of attention! However, small children tend to make him nervous and he has not always exhibited the best manners. An all-adult home, or a home with young adults who would understand his fear and respect his space, is required.
Scruffy has a history of skin allergies; therefore, he will need to remain on a high-quality diet, and require medications as needed.
Scruffy is a few pounds overweight; however, with exercise and a monitored diet we believe that an optimum weight can be achieved - and maintained. Scruffy loves to walk, so getting him to exercise will not be a problem!
Scruffy tested positive for Lyme Disease and is currently being treated with a course of antibiotics.

11/29/09 - update from scruffy's foster family...
Scruffy is a delight, and we could not be more pleased with his progress! In just two days, he has settled right into our home and routine; and he is getting along wonderfully with his foster brothers Max & Berk!
12/01/09 - update from scruffy's foster family...
Scruffy continues to amaze us with his progress...he is noticeably more relaxed and feeling more at ease each day! He sleeps like a log; eats like a horse; runs like a greyhound (for short distances only); and he has the cutest little growl/bark that he uses when he wants to go out. You would love him -- He is just the best little guy! Scruffy has not exhibited any aggression, and he is not the least bit territorial. His eyesight is good - he spotted his first deer this morning and was ready to go hunt. We had initially thought he might have a hearing deficiency, but have since realized that he just has 'typical terrier deafness'...In other words, I will listen to you when I feel like it!
