Jack is a very loving, happy and active Westie boy; and he is in great health for his age.
Although Jack has lost both of his owners within the past year, he still has a zest for life! He is a very happy, loving and active Westie boy who loves to play with toys, chase balls, bark at squirrels, ride in the car, interact with others and go for long walks; but is equally content snuggling with you on the couch and giving you kisses!
Jack has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), and will require a special diet and food supplement for the rest of his life. He has responded very well to his treatment, and the EPI is under control. With continued maintenance, his long-term prognosis is very good!
Jack has mild skin allergies (scratching & paw licking); therefore he will require topical treatments and/or medicated baths as needed; along with close monitoring to ensure that the skin does not become infected.
Jack has never had an incident with a cat; however, he has a tremendous desire to chase any cat that he sees; therefore, we believe that a home without cats would be best.

Jack is adjusting to his foster family with ease. When we arrived, he ran right into his foster home and greeted his foster parents and their Westie; explored his new surroundings; jumped up on the couch and claimed a spot which provided a bird's eye view of the deck, yard and lake; then stretched out on the arm of couch and took a nap! It was as if he had lived there his whole life...he was so relaxed, and obviously felt quite at home!

Jack is doing great, and he is the perfect house guest! He has quickly settled into a routine, and adjusted so well that it seems like he has always been here! He goes out like a light, and sleeps through the night. He loves to walk, and walks very well on a leash; so he will help you get in shape and shed those winter pounds in no time! He enjoys barking at the squirrels, as well as barking at himself in the mirror; but he does know a firm 'no' when he gets too carried away! He loves to play with balls, and will have your pitcher's arm in shape in no time at all! As he becomes more comfortable with us - and we with him; we see more and more of his personality evolve, and he is a character!

Jack continues to 'amuse' us! We were not sure how he would react to so much snow, but he jumped right in and began to frolic...it was obvious he was a snow dog! June, on the other hand, would have nothing of it; but seemed to enjoy watching Jack's antics - as did we! He is very curious, and likes to be involved in whatever you are doing; but, will respect your space when asked...he is very eager to please! He can be a bit of a "mooch" when it comes to people food (hey, you can't blame a guy for trying!), but we are working on this and progress continues.

We are just thrilled that Jack is now an official part of our family! His story touched our hearts on many levels; and we fell in love with him the day we met him! He settled in so wonderfully, and accepted us so lovingly - we simply had to keep him! He is doing great, and has recovered from his recent dental procedure. In fact, this morning he was frisky...which was great to see! So, we are sure that he will be back to chasing squirrels and enjoying our long walks in no time at all!
